vinyl letters

Dave said that I could get a new piece of artwork for our bedroom. I think when he said that he was thinking we would maybe pick it out together and that maybe it would be a nice picture.....well that is not exactly how that worked. I had seen vinyl letters and words that you could essentially rub onto your wall.....and they look like they were painted on by hand. So I orderd them AND THEN MENTIONED TO DAVE THAT I HAD DONE THIS. For my sake I am hoping that they are just as easy to adhere to the wall as it appears. I am anxiously awaiting them and check the mailbox daily. Check back for updates.

So here we are

Its been awhile since I have blogged...I think I can get in a routine now....our computer is set up and all is well...I even remembered all of the passwords I needed to. I didn't know married life could be so good. Blake is in the second grade in a new school and really all seems to be going very well (knock on wood quickly)! Every night brings something new..... This weekend my family is going to move my grandmothers "treasures" from Greenview (small town outside of Springfield) to Effingham. Something I personally am very excited about. I talk to her several times a week but having her this much closer is great. It will be a big adjustment for a lot of people. I'll be sure to let you all know how that goes!

lists lists and more lists - I have a menu list for the wedding I have a grocery list for the wedding I have a list of things to do before the wedding - I have a list of things to do at the house and a list of things I need to do at work before I leave - don't get me wrong - I like lists but I almost need a list of my lists! THEN - not really related but I found this website - I kind of like the idea: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1812048,00.html - how to live with only 100 things - could you do it? HMMM - my sister pointed out that she "had to have" 11 things and she was not even dressed for the day yet.....I chuckled. Tonights plans include taking Blake to Mulberry Grove, going to Shawns ball game, unpack a few boxes and maybe a load of laundry -

As the saying goes....or maybe not a saying but typically as life has it - "if it is not one thing it is another"...... so after surviving the flood of 2008 - we moved A LOT of treasures (as I like to call them) into the new house this past weekend. - If I could just get the trash man to come everyday for awhile that would be great - but I finally think I am getting settled. I have many of the cabinets filled with dishes, glasses, pots, pans, - I have towels where I want them - clothes in the perfect place, furniture arranged the whole 9 yards- and the house looks more and more like a home. Funny thing is - Dave reminded me - that as settleed as I am - less than half of the people have moved into the house that need too still - so I need to make room for 3 more boys.....
- I also must say that the tooth fairy came for the second night in a row - Blake has lost his 2 top front teeth......needless to say we will be practicing wedding picture smiles with our mouth closed!

I will certainly let everyone know how the weekend goes but I must say I am living with 2 scaredy cats. Last night was the first night in our new house in Teutopolis. A little background I sold my house in April - Since I was getting married in June - I knew this great realtor (my dad) who said I needed to be putting my house up for sale soon - I took his advice and the first person to look at the house bought it - she wanted in soon - which left me (Blake and the dog also) moving in with my parents until the new house (this one) was ready (It was a great 6 weeks - there are perks to moving back home). So back to where I started - last night was our first night. Blake didn’t want to take a shower with the bathroom door or shower curtain closed – we compromised – shower curtain closed – bathroom door open. Then he wanted a light on in the kitchen – which turned into he wanted every light on in the house. Bernie (the shitzhu) slept with him the whole night I think it was easier that way on both of them. Hopefully it was the first night jitters and each night will get easier.
So I am addicted to several other people blogs and have thought about starting my own but I am the first to admit that I am not nearly as funny as "those other" - like I laugh out loud when I read some posts. Anyway, I have done the whole myspace thing and its not like blogging but I thought I had to master myspace before I could move into the blogging world. I am going to give this a shot. I think with a wedding coming up, moving into a new house - and living with 4 boys and a dog I will surely have something to talk about .
